A marriage of conventional Western medicine with other healing modalities, including complementary and alternative medicine. Integrative medicine neither rejects conventional medicine nor uncritically embraces alternative therapies. Rather, integrative medicine can be described as a practice that tailors the individual patient’s recommendations from the best scientifically supported therapies of both systems.
Patient and practitioner are partners in the healing process.
All factors that influence health, wellness and disease are taken into consideration; including mind, spirit, and community as well as the body.
Appropriate use of both conventional and alternative methods facilitates the body’s innate healing response.
Effective interventions that are natural and less invasive should be used whenever possible.
Good medicine is based on good science. It is inquiry-driven and open to new paradigms.
Alongside the concept of treatment, the broader concepts of health promotion and the prevention of illness are paramount.
Practitioners of integrative medicine should exemplify its principles and commit themselves to self-exploration and self-development.

Our conventional healthcare system is mechanistic in that it views the body broken down into its distinct mechanical parts and there’s a specialist responsible for caring for each individual system. A healing model based on vitalism, however, believes that the body is a dynamic, ever-changing organism, continuously changing and adapting to its needs and desires. Vitalism also assumes that there is an intelligence and order within the organism that is designed to heal the body, and every system in the body coordinates functions with every other system.
Chiropractic is designed on the concept of vitalism. It is believed that the body has an Innate Intelligence to healing, and dis-ease occurs when the body’s natural ability to adapt to life’s forces (stress, environmental toxins, traumatic events) is interrupted. The thing that disrupts this communication pathway is called a subluxation, which interferes with the normal function of the nervous system. By removing subluxations through a very safe, specific, and controlled force applied to a joint, the interference is released and the body’s nervous system is able to function fully and properly. In essence, with chiropractic, true healing is coming from within the body rather than from the chiropractic adjustment.
Conventional medicine is based on an outside-in approach where healing comes from something being added to the body, such as medicine or surgery, while chiropractic is based on an inside-out approach where healing occurs when the body’s own healing powers are unleashed.
We live our entire lives through our nervous system. Every movement, sensation, emotion, and organ function is under the guidance of the brain-body connection.
At Infinite Chiropractic and Wellness, we use the INSiGHT scans to accurately report on the efficiency of your central nervous system. On your first visit, we get a baseline of how your body is reacting to stressors. Then, we continually look deeper and monitor the ongoing stress on your nervous system every step of the way to a wellness lifestyle.
The INSiGHT scans are made up of the three most important spinal-neural tests: Heart Rate Variability, Surface EMG, and Thermal - which work together to tell us how stress is impacting your overall health and well-being.
Heart Rate Variability: measures how well you are adapting to life stressors.
Surface EMG: measures how much energy is needed to maintain your health and how it is distributed throughout the muscles and body.
Thermal: measures differences in temperatures along the spine, which is an accurate indicator as to where stress is building up and how deeply it affects nervous system function.
All three INSiGHT scans work together to give a “snapshot” of how your body and nervous system are adapting and precisely detect where and how deep the problem is.
“The purpose of chiropractic care is not the treatment of conditions or disease; rather, it is the restoration of normal body function. As chiropractors at Infinite Chiropractic and Wellness, we work with the nervous system via gentle spinal adjustments. The goal is to reduce stress-related interference to the nervous system, thereby enhancing overall body function. All the systems of the body—circulatory, digestive, eliminatory, hormonal, glandular, immunological, muscular, reproductive, respiratory, and skeletal—depend on the optimal function of the nervous system..”
